31 DIVISION PARADE ROOM

31 DIVISION, 40 NORFINCH DRIVE, NORTH YORK.

1987 – 2017

CELEBRATING 30 YEARS OF POLICING.

Those of us who served at the current location of 31 Division, 40 Norfinch Drive, will recall that at the bottom of the stairs at the basement of the building, there was a room which would have been on the south side of the building, which from my recollection from back in 1990, was for the most part unused.

It stored furniture and other fixtures. In mid 2016, two constables Robert Harris and Richard Rand approached the Unit Commander, Superintendent Tony Reviere, with an idea they had for that room. They wanted to transform the room into a unique Parade Room where the walls would be dedicated to the memory of police personnel from past years.

The Superintendent gave the go ahead and a small budget was allocated. The two officers contacted the 31 Division Alumni seeking any photos of past members. We had an enormous collection thanks to you the membership and from that collection, as well as others from current serving members, what transpired must be seen to be appreciated.

On the Alumni website in the PHOTOS section, we have provided twelve photographs of how the Parade Room looks today.

In Photo number twelve Robert Harris on the left with Richard Rand on the right, stand proudly displaying their magnificent project.

The wall recognizing “HEROES IN LIFE NOT IN DEATH” touches each and every one of us.

Congratulations Bob & Rich.

(NOTE: The Parade Room is open for viewing to all members)
